Matthew Collings | They Meet On The Subway

The Edinburgh-based composer Matthew Collings released his solo debut ‘Splintered Instruments’ (produced by Ben Frost) on Fluid Audio in January 2013. He says, “Emotionally this record comes out of reckoning with the destructive forces in my life.

I’ve felt my whole life as if there is an immense, violent force ready to come out of me…” He creates an electro-acoustic world of melancholically melodic and neoclassically-tinted ambient-noise rock soundscapes.

The Astroboy | Espasmo num Transistor
httpv://https://youtube.com/watch?v=9Lf1Gf4Vgag

Although Luís Fernandes aka The Astroboy, a musician and sound artist, develops his work in the exploratory electronic music domain, he has collaborated with a wide range of artists in the past years, including some key figures of modern Portuguese music.

Furthermore, Luis Fernandes is not only the musical curator of SEMIBREVE Festival and one of the members of its organizing team, he also is a co-founder of PAD record label/artist collective.

Ketev | Eridu

Ketev is a post techno project by Berlin-based sound artist and composer Yair Elazar Glotman. Phasing patterns from reel-to-reel tape loops being manipulated by 4-track cassette decks creating roaring textures above slow shifting rhythmic mantras.

In his latest work, the immersive sound installation ‘>1000Hertz’ in collaboration with Andre Wakko and Tommi Koskinen parabolic shapes resonate with frequencies, creating a network of sound.

Markus Mehr & Stefanie Sixt | Transit
httpv://https://youtube.com/watch?v=KGb5Irvoqzw

Within „B C H I J“ Markus Mehr and Stefanie Sixt are exploring the phenomenon of faith and religion. It is an audiovisual examination of the five biggest communities of faith: Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam and Judaism – taken as examples for religious groups.

The piece is an audiovisual observation and an exploration. There is no right or wrong. It is a contemplation, seen from a neutral point of view.

This event is presented and highly recommended by Digital in Berlin! We are giving away 2 x 2 tickets. Just send a mail to win@digitalinberlin.de with “30 Minuten im Ausland” as the subject.
