The saddest music in the world contest at Roter Salon / Saturday, 31.01.2015
The saddest music in the World Contest is a celebration of the most heartbreaking music – hosted by Miss Auguri and Roter Salon/Volksbühne.
Expect shocking nostalgic performances, dramatic presentation and of course a melodramatic turntable entertainer. The saddest audience awards the prize for the saddest song played that night.
In times in which we all can be at the forefront of having everything we wish nevertheless a sentimental and wistful feeling creeps into our hearts in this strange and ruined world.
In dark winter days when we yearn for sad melodies to weigh us gently and give us comfort. That night, this desire will be celebrated and satisfied. Inspired by Guy Maddin’s The Saddest Music in the World (2003) we shall hear Berlin`s most diverse musicians to play their saddest song.
Glamorous, absurd, beautiful and very, very sad, the contestants of tears include: Oriel Quartett, Tonia Reeh, Lukas Lonski, Alex Stolze (Unmap, Bodi Bill, Dictaphone), Ann & Bones, Mika Doo, F.S. Blumm, Ofrin, Marc Marcovic, Oana Catalina Chitu, Sickerman & Kiki Bohemia, Jim Avignon.
This event is presented by Digital in Berlin. Check out our Facebook page to win tickets.
