Balmorhea (pronounced Bal-more-ay) is a six-piece instrumental group from Austin, TX.
Inceptually influenced by the band’s namesake, a tiny West Texas town of 500 people, Balmorhea’s early work reflected motifs of the American Southwest.
These motifs are the folklore of Texas settlers, the emotive proclamations of the mountainous setting, and intimate studies on solitude, nature, and night.
Balmorhea | Remembrance
Slowly adding more members to the band over the years, including a string section and full percussion, Balmorhea’s rich and layered music continues to be simultaneously concise and complex, uniting a collection of ideas, textures, and sounds into one genre-defying landscape.
Old Splendifolia is Jana Plewa and F.S. Blumm from Berlin. Jana is a singer, songwriter and musician. She researches through the field of lyrics, melodies and sounds. And Frank Schültge Blumm also roams around here.
Old Splendifolia | Utterly Heartbreaking
Trained in guitar, the solo artist F.S. Blumm is known for his acoustic and joyfully experimental instrumental pieces.
The versatile instrumentation includes guitar, banjo, cello, piano, bass clarinet, horn, percussion instruments and more and is attentively arranged not to paint over the quiet moods.
This event is highly recommended by Digital in Berlin! We are giving away 2 x 2 tickets. Just send a mail to email@example.com with “Balmorhea & Old Splendifolia” as the subject.
