The Ultraschall festival returns this month with a typically adventurous programme of new music concerts taking place at various locations around Berlin.
The New Music scene has always proven itself to be a true cosmos of artistic individuals, as well as an abundance of sounds, ideas and influences that lie beyond the realm of music. For over twenty years, “Ultraschall Berlin” which takes place from January 15th to 19th at various venues in Berlin, has considered itself to be a forum for central trends and major developments in this area of contemporary culture.
At radialsystem, Jeremias Schwarzer and the Minguet Quartet exhibit both the musical range of the recorder and the allure of the string quartet in contemporary music. Christoph Grund performs a new composition by Sarah Nemtsov among other things, while the Black Page Orchestra plays musical works by Mirela Ivičević. KOMMANDO HIMMELFAHRT premieres their electronic musical theatre “Also sprach Golem” which was written in collaboration with Kaj Duncan David.
