The Comet Is Coming, Ivy Sole & Loshh at Metropol / Sunday, 6.11.2022

As part of this years Pitchfork music festival London’s legendary Comet is Coming return to Berlin for a special concert at Metropol. They will be joined on stage by Ivy Sole & Loshh.

Debuting music from their forthcoming Impulse! records release (March 2019) The Comet is Coming is the soundtrack to an imagined apocalypse.

In the aftermath of widespread sonic destruction what sounds remain? Who will lead the survivors to new sound worlds? Who will chart the new frontier? In a warehouse somewhere in London 2013 a meeting would take place between three musical cosmonauts. They would pool their energies to build a vessel powerful enough to transport any party into outer space.

Ivy Sole is a queer Pan-Africanist musician and creative theorist from Philadelphia by way Charlotte, North Carolina. A skilled polymath, the multi-hyphenate musician forges poetry into incisive lyrics, earning features in Pitchfork, Billboard, NPR, and more. Their forthcoming album CANDID is the third full length project of Ivy’s career, following mixtape Eden (2016) and debut album Overgrown (2018), as well as the East + West EPs of 2017 and last year’s SOUTHPAW, which made NPR’s Best of 2020 list.

London based Dutch/Nigerian artist, Loshh shares his long-awaited debut EP ÍFARADÁ alongside the lead single Ko Si Mo. Receiving plaudits across the breadth of the media for his debut singles FEELAM and FAJI, the multidisciplinary artist follows up with his much-anticipated 7-track EP full of smoky Latin-tinged, percussion-heavy tracks produced by Santiago Morales set against his powerful vocal delivery. An EP created in its entirety through the month of July 2020, both the artist and producer locked themselves away to create a breathtaking body of work at the producer’s home studio in London during lockdown.
