Hot on the heels of the release of his ʻFilthyʼ EP, Small But Hard has invited the legendary producer to head up a night of high decibel heaviness, accompanied by the first appearance in Berlin for Roll Deepʼs FLOWDAN.

Small But Hard provide backup with a rare appearance from DJ SCOTCH EGG, plus a battery of new sounds from the upcoming SBH releases from DEAD FADER and DEVILMAN.

The Bug is the Main mutation of producer Kevin Martin who over the years has been, and is also currently, known as King Midas Sound, Techno Animal, Pressure, Ladybug, among others.

He is also the man behind Pathological Records, compiler of various compilations, collaborator with noisejazz outfit 1617, Pete “Sonic Boom” Kemper’s E.A.R projects, John Zorn, Kevin Shields, ElP, and Anti Pop Consortium, to name just a few.

One of the founding members of successful Grime collective Roll Deep, Flowdan’s growing success comes in the form of multiple facets from Dubstep to Carnivalesque bounce to out and out Bass Music.

His talents, first nurtured in Jungle, became firmly fixed in the then new, Grime music originating from East London, UK where he is classes as an originatore and enjoyed a string of successful releases with his Roll Deep crew.

He is also starring in tracks such as ‘Skeng’ by renowned Dubstep producer The Bug featuring Killa P. These successes paired with his remarkable stage presence sees him touring the world consistently.

UK’s DJ Scotch Egg brings powerful cosmic energy using the simplest tools available: 4 Nintendo Gameboys and a mixer. Not a noisy release by any means, instead a fully activated set of lean muscular gabber pop music that stares boldly into the sun with the jihad of a suicide vest full of gummi bears.

DJ Scotch Egg’s influences include Karlheinz Stockhausen, SKREAM, John Carpenter, Walter Karloss, Steve Reich, Moondog, John Cage and Speedfreaks amongst others. Many of the tracks on his Scotch Hausen album are inspired by one or more of these particular artists.

Shaping a new terrain for noise bass music, Devilman comprises three individual talents that were harvested by a secret underground organization fronted by the mysterious Mr D. Fuzzed out soundsystem bass rides ferocious drum programming and dubwise from Dokkebi Q’s Gorgonn.

Devilman | Bakan Q

Distill this through the psychnoise freak vocal of Bo Ningen’s Taigen Kawabe and you have a sound that is hard to ignore: head nodding yet abrasive; infectious and expansive; noiseinflected livedub destruction.

Living up to their namesake, the legendary Japanese comic/animation, this is the sound track of a world being turned inside out.

Dead Fader | Busy Bee

Dead Fader construct savagely abrasive dance tracks from molten blocks of noise and distortion. Intelligently distressed synths and deteriorated samples tap into your innermost cerebral hemispheres; unapologetic dread noise blasting through your core and assassinating dance floors across the world.

This event is highly recommended by Digital in Berlin! We are giving away 1 x 2 tickets. Just send a mail to win@digitalinberlin.de with “The Bug” as the subject.
