Sun Glitters at Urban Spree Berlin / Tuesday, 28.04.2015

The Luxembourg based dreampop act Sun Glitters released in February his new collaboration EP “Galaxy” with Sarah P. (former singer of Keep Shelly in Athens). At Berlin’s Urban Spree show, Sarah P. will join Sun Glitters’ live show for an exclusive performance of the EP during the live-set. The show will be supported by the Italian postrock/electronica band Platonick Dive.

Sun Glitters is the glitchy, summer obsessed, sun-drenched electronic project of Luxembourg musician Victor Ferreira. Debuting in 2011 with the acclaimed full-length, Everything Could Be Fine and a seemingly endless string of EPs, self-released tracks and remixes, Sun Glitters has quickly left a mark on the electronic music scene. In two short years, he has toured clubs and played festivals throughout Europe and received glowing coverage from Dazed & Confused, BBC, Resident Advisor, Earmilk, XLR8R, Pitchfork, The Guardian and a bevy of trend setting music outlets. Everything from the band name to the washed out pastels of the artwork to the engulfing visuals that supplement a Sun Glitters live performance screams nostalgia. Sun Glitters combines an ocean of lush melodies, pitch-shifted vocal samples, digi-diva choirs, warm bass pulses, and ambient soundscapes into a blisteringly beautiful sound.

This is how Victor Ferreira aka Sun Glitters defines the sound of his project. It is quite difficult to define the genre of Sun Glitters’ sound, it’s a swirling melting pot of many different influences and textures. Reminiscent of Boards of Canada, Burial or Balam Acab, it is also a totally unique, emotionally charged experience. Sun Glitters‘ visual presentation is dreamlike, in pastel sun-faded colors and hazy shadows.
