Did you ever wish to share a dance with Nick Cave, have a chat with Lydia Lunch, walk by the street with Einstürzende Neubauten?
!K7 Records will take over the Stattbad in Wedding and turn it for 2 days into a reactive art piece activated by several guests such as VJ MOX of Ninja Tune and DJ Marc Reeder of Factory rec and Maria from the Risiko bar who will mix with the original Tapes.
In 1985, Horst Weidenmueller, now head of !K7 Records, started filming concerts of underground bands in West-Berlin. He shot these films to document the unique independent music culture of the city at that time. The material features live performances by bands like Einstürzende Neubauten, Nick Cave, Crime and The City Solution, Lydia Lunch and many more.
Subkultur Berlin 80 | Trailer
The videos have been sleeping in the !K7 vaults for over 27 years. After a long process of digitization and remastering, they are now ready for public release. !K7 decided to present these scenes in a non-traditional manner: VJ Mox will do a live Vj set of the unreleased and unseen videos.
There will be a large screen environment which will fully immerse the viewer in the Subkultur / Berlin 80 vision. On top of that, there will be DJs from back in the 80s playing before and after the video live show : Maria of the legendary Risiko Bar and Mark Reeder of Shark Vegas.
