Say Sue Me + Skiing at Schokoladen / Wednesday, 09.05.2018

Say Sue Me are a surf-inspired indie rock quartet from Busan, South Korea. Friends since 5th grade Jae Young (Bass) and Kim Byungkyu (guitar) were introduced to drummer kang Semin and then they heard Sumi’s speaking voice in a cafe and decided she should be the singer. Sumi Choi turned out to be a natural at songwriting.

The bands practice room is located in five minutes on foot from Gwangalli Beach in Busan but it’s their love of 60’s surf (The Ventures/Dick Dale) that adds a lust for the aquatic to their sound, tethered with a healthy dose of 90’s US indie rock/pop melancholy (Seam, Yo La Tengo, Pavement).

Say Sue Me will be supported by Skiing. Skiing is a Berlin band influenced by 1950s rock’n’roll, queercore, punk and and and… Their songs feature guitars, drum beats, bass, and lyrics with one or more-part harmonies.
