The 3rd of 4 monthly Karlrecords concerts at arkaoda presents sets by Sara Persico and Giulio Aldinucci
Sara Persico (Napoli, 1993) is a sound artist, composer and performer based in Berlin. Her practice explores modes of storytelling across the expressive possibilities of the human voice and electronic sound. Her compulsive sonic dimension is shaped by the unusual impulsive vocal practice mixed with pulsations and a variety of frequencies.
Sara plays with the concept of transforming the identity of things, changing the nature of noises in order to create an elaborate interior landscape and induce imagination. Her versatile and performative approach has led her in many collaborative projects with artists such as Tomomi Adachi, Evelyn Saylor’s vocal ensemble for Caterina Barbieri’s light-years show, Andy Moor (The Ex), Tony Elieh, Ludwig Wandinger, Dirar Kalash, Recordat, Francesca Grilli among others. Sara’s debut EP „Boundary“ will be released on Karlrecords on february 10th 2023 as tape / DL.
Giulio Aldinucci is an Italian sound artist working in the fields of experimental electroacoustic music, field recording and ambient soundscape. Born 1981 in Siena, his catalogue comprises several solo albums, four of them on Karlrecords that made it onto several year’s best lists. Furthermore , he wrote music for theatre, video art, documentaries and short movies and was awarded with an honourable mention at the 18th International Electroacoustic Composition Competition Música Viva 2017 for his composition “Mute Sirens”.
Together with Attilio Novellino, Aldinucci launched the project “Postcards From Italy” which consists of an album published by Oak Editions, live events (the first one took place at Cafe Oto, London) and an installation by Aips collective & Gianmarco Del Re. Tonight Giulio will play his first ever Berlin show, presenting music from his latest album „Real“ (LP / tape / DL on Karlrecords).
