Neumund presents an insurpassably infinite double bill at the Circus of Bar25 this Friday with solo live sets by Dieter Moebius, one half of Krautrock legends Cluster, as well as Berlin’s guitar-loop experimentalist Guido Möbius.
Dieter Moebius is a German/Swiss experimental/krautrock/ambient/electronic musician. Moebius studied art in Brussels and Berlin and met there Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Conrad Schnitzler (Tangerine Dream). They founded a band Kluster in 1969. After the departure of Schnitzler, they changed their name to Cluster.
Later Moebius and Roedelius founded the band Harmonia with Michael Rother (Neu!), which also collaborated with Brian Eno.
As a solo-artist Guido Möbius creates a very unique and intimate sound. A whole lot of instruments, most of them acoustic, define the soundcollage. Brittle soundtissues and sweet tones blend in complex arrangements. With his lastest album on Karaoke Kalk, Gebirge, Möbius masters the thin line between lightness and complexity.
Always having an eye on the groove, Möbius has a special interest in small parts of polyrhythmic percussion-patterns and constantly changing harmonies.
You could describe it as playing around with expectations or creative restlessness and fear of stagnation. In any case, it´s definitely a highly original take on popmusic.
