Irk Yste, Stephen Paul Taylor and PSYCHO & PLASTIC at Marie Antoinette / Thursday, 12.04.2018

KosmoClub returns to Marie Antoinette for the 2nd edition! Give Us Your GOLD presents another night of nonconformist electronic live music at Marie-Antoinette. This time around make sure to bring a set of multipurpose dancing shoes so you can enjoy the variety of dance music on offer; ranging from the serene to the insane, from harmonic escapist to glammed up high-enegry vibes and pure psychedelic bliss. As always, we start early!

Irk Yste makes an elaborate mixture of techno, dubstep, jazz and their nuances, under- and overtones. Born out of the iterative process of building structure and harmony and dismantling them to start anew; with a sound located at about three fifths of the axis Berlin- Frankfurt. Claves are joined by synthesizers and a range of other instruments, not only for the dancing crowd’s sake. Combined with Christoph’s studies of electroacoustics composition at the SeaM in Weimar, Irk Yste can stir dancefloors as well as the blood of even the most abstract minded.

Stephen Paul Taylor is a Post-Synthpop-Retrowave musician and Berlin’s original Synth Pop Troubadour.
He is the glittery, glammed-up lovechild of Depeche Mode and the B52s. SPT moved from Planet Party to Berlin and went viral in 2015 with his world-anthem, “Everybody Knows S**t’s F****d”. He has played all over Berlin and has toured over 14 European countries in the last three years. His live shows are high-energy and feature costume changes set to a “costume change song”. The songs are hooky pop songs with sing-along choruses and choreographed dance moves.

Hosts of the night and GiveUsYourGOLD label heads Psycho & Plastic are regarded as ‘underrated live performers’ by Data Transmission. The duo is on a mission to reintroduce a sense of wonder and adventure to both the dance floor and the home listening experience. Their psychedelic productions and crowd moving live sets are abound with a unique sonic palette of analogue synths, alien guitars, organic sequencing and otherworldly vocals. Psycho & Plastic’s recent album Kosmopop was applauded by DJ Mag España with an 8.0. It also includes ‘Planet Seductron’, which was awarded ‘single of the month’ by Faze Magazin with a well deserved 10/10.
