Award-winning singer Lucia Cadotsch and acclaimed saxophonist and composer Wanja Slavin have teamed up with some of the most interesting voices on Germany’s contemporary jazz scene to form a ten-headed ensemble as an extension of LIUN + The Science Fiction Band. In this new formation, Cadotsch and Slavin present an energetic acoustic reinterpretation of the electronic tracks from their 2019 album Time Rewind.
This multi-headed musical hydra is a clever reversal of modern remix culture, where digitally produced music is remixed by other electronic musicians. LIUN + The Science Fiction 10 convincingly works in the opposite direction, reimagining the digitally produced songs of their debut with acoustic instruments, while illustrating what a vocal jazz ensemble can sound like today.
