Appaloosa & Black Fanfare @ Marie Antoinette Berlin | Thursday, 05.06.2014

Kid Elephant presents an excellent double bill of Italian bands at Marie Antoinette next week, with psychedlic-rockers Appaloosa whose new album Trance44 came out earlier in the year. With support from their countrymen Black Fanfare this promises to be a fine show.

Appaloosa are a group from Livorno, Italy with more than 10 years of experience on their back, playing and opening for groups like; Cypress Hill, Karate, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Calibro 35, Atari Teenage Riot just to name a few. In these years Appaloosa have produced 5 albums; “Appaloosa” (2003), “Non posse stare senza di te” (2005), “Savana” (2009), “Rmx Vol. 1 (2012), “The Worst of Satuday Night” (2012).

Their latest album is called “Trance 44” (2014) and has been labeled as “An album with muscles” by italian magazines and was a new experience for the guys who found themselves for the first time to record the entire album independently in their own studio (the Orfanotrofio) where they now record various other bands.

Appaloosa aren’t known and respected only in Italy, the album “The Worst Of Saturday Night” left the guys with a never forgetting tour al through Italy and Europe with more than 100 concerts in 12 months. At the end of 2013 to promote the new album “Trance 44”, the guys decided to do a tour that lasted one months and a half all through Europe, doing 25 gigs in 35 days. Various singles have been made into videos and have gotten national exposure on Mtv, Mtv Brand New and Rock Tv and a couple of songs (Minimum & Luli) have been chosen and inserted into the French compilation “Decouvrir Ablsolument”.

The hardest question that reporters ask and the guys always try to avoid is “How do you explain your music?” or “what type of music do you play?”. The usual and only response by the guys is, “Psychedelic rock, Funk with influence from Dance and Hip-Hop music”.
