The interdisciplinary festival “Alter Schwede!” features readings, concerts and text/sound-performances by 16 writers and musicians from Sweden and Berlin representing different aesthetic concepts, scenes and generations.
Each night, the performances move freely between improvisation and montage, language poetry and social realism, new music and noise, concrete poetry and fragmentary prose.
Some of the artists will meet for the first time on stage to improvise or create new artistic works specifically for this occasion.
With Ida Börjel, Johan Jönson, Pär Thörn and Andrzej Tichý, some of the most interesting and innovative contemporary Swedish authors will participate, including first-time translations of their contributed texts.
All the texts will be printed in a paperback festival reader given away to the audience for free.
