“Fresh on the scene, Sea Change is the alter-ego of Ellen A. W. Sunde. Creating chilling electronica-pop, previous comparisons have been drawn to the likes of Fever Ray and Lykke Li, with a sound similar to artists such as iamamiwhoami, MØ and Broods.” Her debut album „Breakage“ has been released February 23rd 2015. Born in the south of Norway in the late 80s with a natural fascination for noise, improvisation music, tiny acoustic instruments and synth pop. She creates a beautiful loopbased sound that contains beats, vocal harmonies and 80s choruses with an own ability of making it magic and imysterious ambience.

What is the biggest inspiration for your music?
I guess other peoples music is the biggest inspiration. But also literature, movies, life, walking.
How and when did you get into making music?
I’ve always had something in me that needed to come out, but it took several years before I was able to do something about it musically. I was so afraid of what people would think. I studied music and I realized being afraid wouldn’t get me anywhere, so I decided to do something about it.

What do you associate with Berlin?
Walking around with no worries, drinking beer at Maybachufer, club mate, cheap everyday life. Cool Bars in empty streets. I love Berlin!
What’s your favourite place in your town?
Oslo, I really love Cafe libeling in Oslo and all the wonderful parks.
If there was no music in the world, what would you do instead?
I think I would have been a writer of novels and poetry, or painted pictures.

SBTRKT, Röyksopp, Kanye West, or maybe someone from Odd Future wolfing Kill Them All
What was your best gig (as performer or spectator)?
I really loved playing at the Motel Mozaigue festival in Rotterdam this april. Was a packed church, and we had a full light show with us. It was awesome.
How important is technology to your creative process?
Very important. I record and produce everything on my mac. I start producing very early in the songwriting process, so technology is everything.
Do you have siblings and how do they feel about your career?
I have very supportive brother and sister. My sister is maybe the one tat has seen me live the most.
