Royal Dust and Fábel at Roter Salon Volksbuehne Berlin / Friday, 20.03.2015

Haunt Music presents a night of live performances from two of the labels premier acts… Royal Dust plus special guests Aérea Negrot & Volker Meitz and Fábel.

Berlin based pianist / keyboarder Volker Meitz is involved in projects from Jazz to Electronica.He also is a keyboard sideman and producer for various artists. Besides music itself, Volker has always been fascinated by the technical aspect of sound synthesis and music production, which resulted in some respective studies and eventually in a master’s degree of Electro-Acoustical Engineering and Audio Communication from Berlin Technical University. He passes his knowledge on as a freelance teacher for audio engineering and sound design.

Fabel is a multi-instrumentalist musician (piano, bass & guitar, percussion, wind instruments, synthesizers…) and composer, his musical trajectory includes collaborations with bands from a variety of scenes, like hardcore, metal, jazz, folk, blues and hip-hop), as well as collabs for theatre, dance and performance events. Nowadays, he produces music covering a wide spectrum of styles, ranging from IDM to Glitch, Jazz, Electronica, Dub, Slo Mo and even Techno, having released on labels like Sinergy Networks (Klitekture branch), Permissive Records, AvantRoots, Redlight Music and Crosstown Rebels.

Miguel Toro started his musical education at a very early age playing percussion and drumset in school bands in the 70’s and 80’s. 2013 is the birth of his new project, Royal Dust. A finely balanced mixture of Jazz, Electronica, Glitch and Pop. Playing most of the instruments himself, and recording with the use of one microphone, one computer and all the rooms of his apartment in Berlin, Miguel takes you to a Royal journey into the Dust and the unheard realms of soundesign and song treatment. At the end of 2013 the Royal Dust Remixes was released featuring works by Ricardo Villalobos and Paul Frick.

Haunt Music is an imprint dedicated to exploring the lost corners of dance floor electronics and forgotten armchair aesthetics. Hints of jazz and musical experimentation permeate each release in the catalogue, constantly leading the listener down a new path of discovery. Haunt began releasing music in 2009, with a roster featuring the likes of Horror inc. (aka Akufen), Blue Fields (aka Mike Shannon & Takeshi Nishimoto), The Mole, DeWalta and Guillaume & les Coutu Dumonts.
