Patterns of Perception returns to About Blank on May 5-6 for a second birthday celebration featuring Polar Inertia, Patrick Russell, natural/electronic.system., John Osborn, Laura BCR, re:ni and special guests to be announced.
The Berlin club night, which has carved out a niche in the local party scene with a distinctive blend of techno, house and ambient electronic music, is capping off a successful second year with its annual anniversary party spanning 22 hours on the indoor and outdoor dance floors at About Blank.
The party begins in the two indoor spaces, with a live set from Polar Inertia anda DJ set from Patrick Russell (of Bunker NY fame) bringing heady techno to MDF. Meanwhile, DRED Records head John Osborn, On Board Music founder Laura BCR and UK-based re:ni showcase the housier side of techno in the lobby until the early hours of Sunday.
The party then moves outdoors on Sunday morning for an open-air session in the garden, featuring Patterns of Perception regulars natural/electronic.system and a not-to-be-missed surprise closing set (more details will be announced on May 5). Resident DJs Kim Bergstrand, Hysteria, Steve Duncan and Andreas Maan complete the rest of the line up.
Since launching two years ago, Patterns of Perception has booked some of the leading names in contemporary electronic music for both their regular club nights at OHM Berlin and anniversary parties at About Blank, and has featured many emerging and established names on their mix series.
Highlights from the past year include debuting the new live set of Sebastian Mullaert under the alias Wa Wu We at OHM in December, a garden party session with Semantica label boss Svreca at their first birthday party last May, and appearances from up-and-coming artists including Amandra, Cyspe, Agonis and Jacopo.
