Paradox & Parallels presents […,] from Agata Siniarska and Female Trouble: Cross Pollination at Ausland / Thursday, 19.11.2015

Paradox and Parallels is a performance series looking at methods of working in the fall of 2015 in ausland. The pieces presented explore the changing relationship between that which is heard and that which is seen putting into question the concept of work in the frame of interdisciplinary, collaboratively based performance art.

The third evening approches reduction and relocation with Agata Siniarska’s performance […,], a struggle over life and death, where the boundary between science fiction and social reality is just an optical illusion, and Cross Pollination, which is (yet) another occasion of Female Trouble practicing collective performance. It is a practice of circulating scores that accumulates and reformulates three bodies reading, writing and dancing with one another through mutual affection in real time.

Agata Siniarska, fictional character with many talents and a criminal past, consciously happening chapter after chapter inside the choreographic frame, dealing with the idea of femme female impersonation. Giving chance to different kinds of theatrical forms, currently she studies choreography in Berlin, still she doesn’t forget past experiences and desires towards language and writing, cinema and animation. Addicted to fiction, she makes her investigations between life/death in image and life/death outside the frame, fashioning herself as tools of visual rhetoric, through the cultural structures. Every image, fueled by the energy of profound theoretical hesitancy, she makes with passion and intense fascination. Many times not alone but with exquisite adventurers.

Female Trouble is only that small friendship group. Like an individual does, the collective seeks to communicate with others, go into exchange, facilitate space and discussion for and with others, be part of a network of learning and questioning, creating and sharing artistic work. Questions about co-authorship, the role of the audience, experiential knowledge production are crucial to the collective way of working. Modes of exposure, communication, presence. They create moments for visibility and establish temporary communities in which the rules are negotiated.
