Lust For Youth will play an exclusive German showcase that night, presenting their upcoming album International, to be released on June 10th via Sacred Bones Records.

To put it bluntly, the upcoming release is unrecognizable as a Lust For Youth record on first listen. Hannes Norrvide’s previous solo albums under the Lust for Youth moniker have been described as “dark, cold, atonal, tormented, lonely, and lower than lo-fi.”

The approach on International has shifted dramatically. Writing as a three-piece now, with longtime live collaborator Loke Rahbek and new band member Malthe Fisher, who produces and plays guitar, LFY have entered a completely new territory. The result is stunning.

International is a buoyant synth masterpiece in the vein of early Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys and New Order. Norrvide’s work has always had pop sensibilities buried deep in the reverb, but the hooks are front and center on International, and there is nothing lo-fi about it.

Dream Affair from Berlin & New York will warm up the stage at Urban Spree. Frontman Hayden Payne began Dream Affair in Philadelphia in 2009 as a guitar-based outlet to his previous band Void Vision. It has since relocated to the industrial outskirts of Brooklyn, New York and expanded its lineup.

Since the release of their much praised debut album “Endless Days” in June 2011, the band has expanded their initial references of Post Punk and French Cold Wave with Industrial sounds and structures reminiscent of Killing Joke and Death in June. The results was released in form of the Tape-EP “Aborted State” (2012) and, in 2013, the 12” Vinyl “From Now On” which offers six songs of reverb-laden drums pounding against contorted guitars and howling synths.

Dream Affair is definitely a live act that is not to be missed. The band has secured several prominent gigs, including appearances at the infamous Wierd Records party in New York City, opening slots for Chameleons Vox and The Snake Corps and recent headlining club gigs in Paris and Berlin.

The performances will be supported by Ian P. Christ & Philipp Strobel (Death # Disco) on the decks.

Presented by Death # Disco & Digital in Berlin. Check out our facebook page to win tickets.
