Kontraklang w/ Ensemble LUX:NM at Heimathafen Neukölln / Sunday, 10.09.2017

LUX:NM contemporary music ensemble berlin has become an internationally recognized chamber ensemble in a short time.
In 2010, Ruth Velten and Silke Lange founded the group with other soloists to develop chamber music programs with a sonically flexible instrumentation. The unconducted ensemble is dedicated to interpreting and to initiating contemporary music. Their intense collaboration creates the possibility for unusual new projects, which like tonight’s program often involve electronics and staging.

For several years, LUX:NM has worked closely with the Canadian composer Jef Chippewa. New pieces by Chippewa and Anthony Tan, as well as a composition by the Canadian-born composer Annesley Black constitute a Canadian emphasis in this program. Another important aspect of this evening is its performative quality reflected in Chippewa’s and Brigitta Muntendorf’s works. Last but not least, Sarah Nemtsov’s explosive 2015 piece “Journal” is not to be missed.

Program:

Jef Chippewa: new work (World Premiere)
Annesley Black: a piece that is a size that is recognised as not a size but a piece
Antonis Anissegos: It Is What It Is # 1. (World Premiere)
Anthony Tan: On the Sensations of Tone III (World Premiere)
Brigitta Muntendorf: Yes Master
Sarah Nemtsov: JOURNAL
