Jeff Buckley / Retrospective CD/DVD

When Buckley died in a drowning accident in 1997, he’d only had time to release one full-length album, 1994’s Grace. That angelic little nugget has, over the years, attained sacred text status. And with the album’s 15th anniversary coming up, Columbia/Legacy has announced the impending release of a Buckley DVD/CD set called Grace Around the World.

The set, which Buckley’s mother Mary Guibert executive produced, is due June 2, and it includes unreleased footage of Buckley singing almost every song from the album in venues around the world. Yes, unreleased footage of Jeff Buckley still somehow exists.

A deluxe edition of Grace Around the World will also include Amazing Grace, an hour-long DVD documentary directed by Buckley fans Laurie Trombley and Nyla Bialek Adams. The film features archival footage of Buckley as well as Interviews with fans and people close to him.

Grace Around the World includes footage from TV appearances that Buckley taped in America, Germany, England, Japan, and France. And because Buckley didn’t perform the Grace track “Corpus Christi Carol” on tour, the DVD includes footage of him doing the non-album track “What Will You Say” instead. The DVD also includes a few songs and interviews as bonus features. The CD contains audio of all ten live performances from the DVD, as well as additional versions of “Grace” and “So Real” recorded in 1995 on MTV’s “120 Minutes”.
