Jasmine Guffond is a sound artist and composer from Sydney, Australia, living and working in Berlin, Germany. She has performed live internationally, exhibited sound installations and recorded music for CD and 12inch vinyl releases with the Sigma Editions, Staubgold and Monika Enterprise labels.
A new solo album, Yellow Bell was released on Sonic Pieces in January 2015. Her music draws upon influences from experimental electronic, song, techno and avant-garde, working with abstract sound as much as traditional musical forms, aiming to create a concordant relationship between a sound that holds emotive power and musicality and a sensitive microscopic study of electro acoustic phenomena.

A love of music.
How and when did you get into making music?
I was classically trained from a young age, but only began making my own music at 18 when I taught myself bass guitar.

What do you associate with Berlin?
I have been living for a long time in Berlin so there are many associations, but I guess the strongest that remains is a sense of freedom.
What’s your favorite place in your town?
I don’t have a singular favorite place. I rarely think about things from that perspective.
If there was no music in the world, what would you do instead?
Listen to nature and everyday sounds.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?
For a lot of my projects right now (not strictly musical) I need to collaborate with a programmer.

Its an essential creative tool.
Do you have siblings and how do they feel about your career?
I have a younger sister and she is completely disinterested.
