Davide’s new Honzo project born out of his keen interest in human psychology (primary emotions like fear, anger, sadness, which are common for all humans of all cultures) and desire to reveal the bipolarity of his musical expression. By incorporating submerged futuristic-breakbeats, haunting cinematic soundscapes, cutting edge modulations and the whole dark palette of sonorous sounds, Davide is figuratively painting a dramatic, yet post-apocalyptic and to some extent brutal and hopeless world’s fragment. With his distorted, drony and hallucinatory recordings Davide is definitely building a new musical perspective to techno music. It can be heard at Honzo’s debut 12″ record “In A Bipolar Disorder” which was released in the late 2013. Honzo’s release on Haunter Records (“Das Unheimliche”) was out in February. A release is coming on Arboretumhis while his 3TH release will come later.

Questions
What is the biggest inspiration for your music?
The biggest inspiration comes from the keen interest in Human psychology and the will to express it through a musical project. Emotions are the main point of my creative process. While studying psychology I was always wondering how music can affect people and how they react to it and its frequencies.
How and when did you get into making music?
In my village it is not so common but I was lucky to hang out with people interested in electronic music and clubbing, my curiosity grew more and more till I found a cubase’s class that I joined with some friends. Ascion is my partner in music since that time.

My home and my studio.
If there was no music in the world, what would you do instead?
A world in “Mute”? Without any noise? I could not accept this, I’d rather die or not being born.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?
I experience music in a personal way and I don’t find it easy sharing my feelings with artists that I don’t personally know or I don’t feel close. Sharing a creative process is not just working with someone, I think it’s more sharing yourself and who you are. At the moment the artists that I would collaborate with are: Ascion, AnD, Gaja and Mike Parker. They are good friends and they totally agree with my vision of life and music.
What was your best gig (as performer or spectator)?
As Honzo, I just had one gig, it was at Contort in Berlin last november. It was my best live performance and the first time that I co-worked with a video performer, -FAX-.
How important is technology to your creative process?
I use Technology as main tool and media but I have to say that it is not all. It’s important, surely it can increase and improve your work especially with all the Technologies we have nowadays. But in the end, if you have the will to make music, if you want to make noise or whatever, the Technology will be always just a tool and it will not affect your creative process. I mean animals and the first human tribes have always made music without any technologies, we can exactly do the same.
For me the most important thing that technology has given to music is that these tools must help you in developing your impulses and ideas that will reflect yourself and your personality.
Do you have siblings and how do they feel about your career?
Yes I have. One brother and one sister, both older than me. They are really fine with it and they have supported me in each choice I have done. They are not so involved with Electronic music but they are always happy to know what I’m doing :D
