Bärenzwinger

The Bärenzwinger at Köllnischer Park occupies a fascinating place in the history of Berlin. Built during the Nazi era, the former bear pit housed Berlin’s heraldic animals until as recently as 2015, and currently serves as a cultural venue for site-specific contemporary art in Mitte.

Visitors, artists, scientists, and curators are intrigued by this special place tucked away not far from the Spree. A Kiezsalon is to take place here in July, featuring three concerts, and will be the first able to be enjoyed from a public park.
