Annette schmucki (*1968 in zurich, freelance composer since 1995) works with ‘sprache als musik’ (music and language tilt into each other); words are her musical material. she moves against the feasibility and availability of language in the direction of ‘zentrifuge’ (words reduced to their meaning are facilitated by being stretched, frayed, inserted into ever-changing contexts) and ‘sprachheit’ (language that is selfaware and can’t be easily plucked). she studied with cornelius schwehr and mathias spahlinger at hochschule für musik in freiburg.
Annette is part of Welcome in – a musical excursion at Akademie der Künste on Saturday, 31.5.2025.
