After silent green and Digital in Berlin presented the Berlin premiere of American ambient musician Ana Roxanne to a beguiled audience earlier this year, the stand-out artist is now making a return to the city, this time accompanied by her guitar and a host of new experiences that she has gained while touring the world.
Ana Roxanne is an American musician based in New York. Her self-released EP was later reissued by Leaving Records before signing with Kranky for her official full-length debut, 2020’s Because Of A Flower.
Working at the interzone of electric meditation, dream pop, and ambient songcraft, her inspirations span the secular (R&B divas of 1980’s and 90’s) and the spiritual (Catholic choral traditions in which she was raised), synthesized into a uniquely intuitive sonic language, equal parts atmospheric and ancient, healing and hermetic.
Ana Roxanne will be supported by Ingri Høyland (also known as Hôy La), a Norwegian composer and producer based in Copenhagen who has collaborated with alumni such as Jeppe Lange and Sofie Birch. As well as Severin Black, the UK native has been running the experimental label and event series Archaic Vaults since 2020. In the recent past he’s most notably collaborated with, and released material alongside, Alex Zhang Hungtai, Christoph de Babalon and Lisa Lerkenfeldt.
The show will be presented by Berlin based music label Vaagner. Since its inception in 2018, Vaagner functions as a music label and event series that has released and reissued over 80 albums on vinyl and tape by an assortment of international and Berlin based acts, including Perila, Ekin Fil, KMRU & Abul Mogard.
