The incomparably magnificent Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra present their second 2 day Kosmostage festival this year at Radialsystem V. Billed as a Festival for Universal Music, the Kosmostage will see a host of excellent special guests as well as AMEO playing in the configuration we already know and love.
Taking place 17 – 18 July 2015 at Radialsystem V in Berlin, the second edition of Kosmostage explores music ranging from 11th century choral works, original tribe rhythms from Burkina-Faso, to avant-garde compositions from Italy and Japan, rounded off with live electronic dance music, and contemporary jazz. The festival is curated and produced by the Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra, a Berlin-based 18-person ensemble that aims to remain unpredictable and willing to push stylistic boundaries through its album releases, concerts and tours, as well as the events it conceives and hosts.
Highlight of the 2015 Kosmostage will be a special collaboration between Brasialian Jazz maverick Hermeto Pascoal and the Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra. On the occasion of the festival, orchestra leader and composer Daniel Glatzel writes new arrangements of Pascoal’s work, that will be performed live on stage by the jazz legend, together with the Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra, Aline Morena (voice), and Fabio Pascoal (percussion).

Besides groups from our own band-members, AMEO have invited other ensembles with vastly different backgrounds to present two days of music ranging from 11th century choral music, original tribe rhythms from Burkina-Faso, to avant-garde compositions from Italy and Japan, rounded off with fine live electronic dance music, contemporary jazz and two sets of our orchestra playing as a whole.

In these performances AMEO will also be joined by his longtime-bandmates Aline Morena and Fabio Pascoal. Our composer Daniel Glatzel has the honor of arranging Hermeto’s music for this occasion which will include a big variety of the incredible output (over 6000 compositions) of this legendary musician. Like all geniuses, Hermeto is very alive and kicking it at the age of 79.
