Alien Disco enters its third round! The festival, which was initiated and lovingly curated by the indie rock band The Notwist, has already achieved cult status in just two years, with performances by handpicked groups and performers who seldom – or never – perform in Munich owing to the conditions of the commercial concert business.
On December 14 and 15, artists from all over the world will once again gather on all three stages of the Kammerspiele and in the Blaues Haus. This energetic festival shows that music knows no bounds, either geographically or culturally. One of the special features this year is a focus on music from Japan, conceived by the Tokyo-based duo Tenniscoats, two long-standing friends of the brothers Markus and Micha Acher. Another highlight is the reunion of Palais Schaumburg in its original line-up. The quartet consisting of Timo Blunck, Thomas Fehlmann, Ralf Hertwig and Holger Hiller bridged the gap between post punk and electronic music, to Dada and funk at the beginning of the ’80s.
Seven years ago Palais Schaumburg came together for a series of concerts. At the time, the audience and the critics agreed that this group had lost nothing of its explosiveness and visionary power. After a long break, Palais Schaumburg is appearing in Munich for an exclusive performance.
