Al Doum & The Faryds, Pharoah Chromium @ Monarch Berlin | Monday, 28.04.2014

Al Doum & The Faryds are a 6-piece ensemble formed in Milano, Italy in 2010. Using the djembe, the mbira, the sitar and other traditional instruments along with the ones you might expect from a rock band their music is a perfect blend of arabic, indian and african sounds mixed with western psychedelia.

This one is for fans of Embryo, Agitation Free or the more recent Goat. “You gots to hear these cosmic jokers on repeat in order best to witness the dissolving of your immidiate world!” -Julian Cope

Pharoah Chromium is a project by german-palestinian musician and performer Ghazi Barakat and was named after a song of the band Chrome.

The project draws inspiration from diverse sources: free jazz, rituals from ancient past and near future, the dream syndicate, science fiction novels and neo-brutalistic architecture.
