10 Years Bongo Joe w/ Lateena & Bony Fly, Chupame El Dedo & Blanco Teta at Gretchen / Monday, 7.10.2025

Phenomenally wonderful Geneva based label Bongo Joe records celebrates its 10th anniversary at Gretchen in Kreuzberg this October. With live acts by Lateena & Bony Fly, Chupame El Dedo & Blanco Teta plus DJ Cyril this is sure to be a very fun evening.

Born in Argentina in 2017, Blanco Teta is more than just a band. The project melts experimental rock, punk-pop and trash noise to develop a statement that pass over genre limits. The quatuor digs with intensity into noise, dance, avant-garde but also into politic with a clear speech on transfeminism. From the suburbs of Buenos Aires to some of the most interesting European festival, passing by an outstanding KEXP session, the live iteration of Blanco Teta proposes something so fresh crossing border of performance to create an immersive experience at high level of energy and madness.

Born out of an electric encounter at the Dancehall Fusion Festival in Geneva, the project reflects the duo’s shared commitment to pushing boundaries. With Lateena’s magnetic freestyle prowess and Bony Fly’s mastery of production, each track is a celebration of diversity, resilience, and the transformative power of music. From infectious hooks to vibrant Caribbean beats, the album promises to captivate hearts and ignite dancefloors worldwide.

Lateena, a queer trans artist hailing from Jamaica, channels her bold identity and raw energy into music that is both deeply personal and universally empowering. Paired with Bony Fly’s innovative production—steeped in his Guatemalan roots and honed by a career spanning global collaborations—this album offers a fresh and exhilarating take on modern dancefloor sounds.

Chupame El Dedo is a new group formed by Eblis Álvarez (Meridian Brothers) and Pedro Ojeda (Romperayo, Los Pirañas, Ondatrópica). It was born out from a commission by Detlef Diederichsen, director of the ‘House of World Cultures’ in Berlin for a Festival called “Evil Music” or “Böse musik” in October 2013. The idea was to recreate a death metal group with influences of tropical music. The result is pure tropical madness, stylistic dislocation and very very fast drums. Head banging mojitos!
