The saddest music in the world contest # 6 at Roter Salon / Saturday, 21.05.2016

The Saddest Music in the World Contest enters the sixth round. The contest is a celebration of the most heartbreaking music – hosted by Miss Auguri and Roter Salon/Volksbühne.

In dark winter days when we yearn for sad melodies to weigh us gently and give us comfort. That night, this desire will be celebrated and satisfied. Inspired by Guy Maddin’s The Saddest Music in the World (2003) we shall hear Berlin`s most diverse musicians to play their saddest song.

Expect shocking nostalgic performances, dramatic presentation and of course a melodramatic dj. The saddest audience awards the prize for the saddest song played that night.

In times in which we all can be at the forefront of having everything we wish nevertheless a sentimental and wistful feeling creeps into our hearts in this strange and ruined world.
