The 2025 edition of the Month of Contemporary Music opens with a concert by the AGGREGATE Festival on 13 September at 8pm at the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church.
The opening night features gamut inc, Danish sound artist Mads Kjeldgaard, and Scottish composer, organist, and performer Claire M Singer, who will present new and existing works for organ. In Hyphal, Mads Kjeldgaard introduces his first composition for automated organ, using algorithmic processes to sonify the growth patterns of fungi.
gamut inc, together with exceptional organist Sebastian Heindl, present a new work that explores the dynamic interplay between organist and computer-controlled systems. Through this interaction, they push the boundaries of organ performance into new realms of hyper-virtuosity and sonic experimentation.
Claire M Singer, known for her experimental approach to the organ, draws inspiration from the dramatic landscapes of Scotland. Her work explores rich harmonic textures and complex overtones, generating ever-shifting melodic and rhythmic patterns that often vanish as quickly as they emerge.
We invite all guests to stay for a reception after the concert – a chance to meet the artists, engage in conversation, and enjoy a drink together.
