A terrific lineup at Acud Macht Neu this October with Ka Baird presenting a live audio-visual show and regular D/B favourites Takeshi Nishimoto and Christoph Berg aka Field Rotation providing another of their exquisite chamber music-esque performances.

Ka Baird is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist living and working in NYC. She is one of the founding and continuing members of the long running avant psych project Spires That In The Sunset Rise. Described by Jack Rose as a “female Sun City Girls”, STITSR have contributed a different slant to the New Folk movement by incorporating various avant-garde and world music influences into their music. Their sound has been compared to the Raincoats, Meredith Monk, Comus and Harry Partch. Their most recent album “Beasts In The Garden” was described by Marc Masters as “some kind of long-lost Terry Riley/Angus MacLise collaboration, equally devoted to divine repetition and center-seeking ritual”. Since 2001, they have released eight full length records and several side releases.

Camilla Padgitt-Coles (b. 1985, New York City) is a multimedia artist/musician working in light, sound, video, and audio-visual environments. She makes musical and visual work solo as Ivy Meadows as well as in ambient musical projects Future Shuttle, Energy Star and Tropical Rock (Past: KA, Guardian Alien) and has been involved in close audio-visual collaborations with musicians Bryce Hackford and more recently Ka Baird of Spires That in the Sunset Rise. She graduated from Oberlin College in 2007 with a B.A. in Studio Art for drawing, painting and printmaking. Since 2009 she has performed live projections with musicians, bands, and at parties (such as Deep Trouble NYC and WORK) using prepared footage and a variety of D.I.Y. methods.

Takeshi Nishimoto (born in Fukuoka, Japan) is a classically-trained guitarist and composer who is conversant with European, Northern Indian, and American jazz classical traditions. In addition to collaborations with diverse artists late sitar master Rahul Sakyaputra to I’m Not a Gun associate John Tejada, Nishimoto has also performed extensively as a solo artist.

Since 2002, Nishimoto has been signed to UK/Germany based Record Label, City-Centre-Offices and performed major venues and festivals in the USA, Japan and throughout Europe. Nishimoto is currently involved in many projects, ranging from soundtracks to gallery-based sound installations. His unique style of guitar playing makes him both a much sought after collaborator and mentor for a broad range of musical projects. The latest album ‘Lavandula’ was released on Berlin-based sonic pieces label in August 2013. He resides in Berlin, Germany since June 2005.

Christoph Berg is a composer and musician currently living and working in Berlin, Germany, focusing on fragile acoustic chamber music compositions that can be recorded and performed as a one man ensemble. Besides, he is a member of several collaborative projects, joins friends on tour to help performing their works every now and again and works as a studio musician. Also releases music as Field Rotation.
