Hania Rani at Berliner Philharmonie / Monday, 15.6.2026

The multi-award-winning composer, producer, pianist, and singer Hania Rani released a new large-scale work last November with Non Fiction – Piano Concerto in Four Movements. Recorded at Abbey Road Studios with a 45-piece orchestra, the album marks a new chapter in Rani’s artistic development: her experimental sound language merges here with a distinctly symphonic orientation.

Following its world premiere at the Barbican Centre in London and international performances, there will be an exclusive show in Germany: on June 15 at the Berlin Philharmonie with the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, saxophonist Jack Wyllie, and conductor Marek Moś.

Non Fiction anchors Rani’s music more firmly in the real world and is shaped by a perceptive, non-fictional perspective. Across four contrasting movements, a field of tension unfolds between fragility and force, dissonance and harmony. The work reflects existential questions of our present time and engages with the perception of war, violence, and mediated reality.

For the realization of the project, Rani collaborated with leading voices from the contemporary music scene, including the Manchester Collective and conductor Hugh Tieppo-Brunt. The sonic language is further enriched by improvisational and experimental elements, giving the work a dimension that is both timeless and distinctly contemporary.

With Non Fiction, Hania Rani opens up a new sonic space between orchestra and individual expression—inviting the audience to experience music as a reflective and deeply personal encounter.
