Hamsundays: Four Days of Music in the Arctic Circle / August 4–7, 2026

Digital in Berlin invites you to venture to the Arctic Circle with us for Hamsundays, where we are curating a dedicated music program that brings together local and international authors, poets, musicians, and composers, set against the backdrop of the fjords.

Beginning in 1982, the Hamsundays Culture and Literature Festival has been held biennially in Northern Norway. Since 2010, Hamsundays has taken place at the Hamsun Center in Presteid, the national center dedicated to the life and writings of Nobel Prize-winning author Knut Hamsun. The program is always varied, but focuses primarily on art and culture, with an emphasis on literature.

Over four long, light-filled August days, the Hamsun Center in Hamarøy, Norway will be held from 4–7, 2026. It is entitled The Ring is Over, taking inspiration from Knut Hamsun’s life’s work and the title of his second-to-last book.

Along the festival’s extensive literature and culture program, we will present a series of concerts featuring cellist Yamila, singer/pianist Susanna Wallumrød in a duo with sound artist Stina Stjern, flutist Juli Deák, vocalist Maja S. K. Ratkje with visuals by Matti Aikio, pianist Herborg Rundberg and the renowned vocal ensemble Trondheim Voices.
