„From The Engine room“ on board the MS Heimatland aka Gallery Hošek Contemporary – is an immersive concert installation, developed from intensive research and the examination of the sound characteristics of the combustion engine.
Sounds from historic lorry engines, a Rhine ship engine, diesel locomotives, Lamborghinis and Trabbi cars etc. were combined with live electronics, cello and bass clarinet, video and live overhead projections. Enhanced with snippets of conversations from interviews with specialists and vehicle enthusiasts, which reveal an intimate relationship between man and machine, the evening unites to form a swan song to the combustion engine.
