Altın Gün return to Berlin in March for a special live concert at Huxleys neue Welt in Kreuzberg.
Since bursting onto the scene in 2018 with their debut album, On, Amsterdam-based Altın Gün have been at the vanguard of the 21st century revival of Turkish-influenced psychedelic grooves. Coming straight out of the gate with a wah-wah and organ heavy sound that effortlessly captured the spirit of Anatolian 70s psych-funk masters like Bariş Manço and Erkin Koray, they deepened and expanded their palette with 2021’s Yol, which brought synths and drum machines into the mix for a more 80s-influenced dream-pop vibe.
We are thrilled to announce that Altın Gün will release their brand-new album ‚Garip‘ this coming spring, marking the next chapter in their sonic journey. To celebrate, the band brings the new music to stages across Europe with a full tour through Spring 2026. ‚Garip‘ marks a pivot back toward 70s Anatolian folk-rock sensibilities and is a tribute to the late legendary composer Neşet Ertaş. Altın Gün is dailing back on heavy synth production in favor of live instrumentation, vintage hardware, and real-time interplay.
Every track on ‚Garip‘ is a reimagined version of traditional Turkish folk songs, composed by Neşet Ertaş, presented through a lens of psychedelic rock, funk, and spaced out groovy pop. Critics highlight the hypnotic, swirling textures, space-rock tendencies, prog-folk interplay, and danceable grooves as signature traits.
