ACEPHALIC HEADSPACE extends the series’ exploration of collective listening and expanded performances, live and DJ sets alike: Artists who approach sound, structure and rhythm as open systems, merging experimental, soundarty, up to danceable forms.
ACEPHALIC HEADSPACE invites immersion in a ‘headless’ flow — a field where rhythm and atmosphere replace linear progression. Inspired by Georges Bataille’s “acephale” – a headless, collective being — these nights reject hierarchies. Here, no single center leads. Instead, sound circulates, connecting performers and audience through shared vibration and sensory exchange.
elisanyhm is a composer, dj, and sound artist based in Berlin. She mainly uses FM synthesis, voice, and field recordings to generate textural sonic landscapes. Her practice includes techniques such as accentuating artifacts within sounds and cutting samples of her voice apart.
Zustand D. are musical solo-explorations by Lena Wenta. Following a quote by Nikola Tesla, whereas “to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”
Krushak melts and twists music in his very own way. Influenced by his vision of ExperiMENTAL Anarchy, he aims to conquer brains and wants to let them send uncontrolled energy to its listeners extremities.
Anna Butter, resident DJ at Acephalic Headspace, constructs high-emotion narratives from deconstructed club signals, post‑industrial noise, and feminist vocal eruptions. Her DJ sets balance fierce release and deep abstraction, channeling intensity as both resistance and celebration.
Marc Matter, member of IFF and long‑time Salon des Amateurs resident, bridges DJing and radiophonic composition. He threads voices, patterns, and polyrhythmic fragments into semantic rhythm, crafting connections that act as spoken pathways between acts.
Don’t DJ continues his research into “non‑equilibrium music”—complex rhythmic organisms that evolve and erode in real time. His live performance interlaces tuned percussion and polyrhythmic sequencing, creating endlessly morphing networks of motion and reflection.
