D/B Recommended: Wassermusik Open-Air-Festival in Berlin @ Haus der Kulturen der Welt, 22.07.–15.8.2010

The flair of the south sees and Caribbean sounds were the focus in the first two installments of this open air summer festival situated directly on the banks of the Spree. This time the subject is the great rivers that flow deep into the continent’s heart. TONIGHT: Omar Souleyman

The flowing waters of the Danube, the Amazon and the Nile will wash their sounds over the shores of the Spree, at Berlin’s only concert friendly roof top terrance to be precise.

The series of films takes up the concerts grooves and projects the rivers spirits on the open air screen. „Liquid Writing – Schreiben im Fluss“ enables the jump into cold waters: the shift from consumers to producers of literature. And once again Wasserradio (water radio) is on board, while the philosopher and former mariner Michel Serres will provide a plethora of thought when he docks in for a “Melange“ at WASSERMUSIK.

[GERMAN] Bei den ersten zwei Ausgaben des Freiluft-Sommerfestivals des Hauses an der Spree standen Südseeflair und karibische Sounds im Mittelpunkt. Diesmal geht es auf den großen Strömen tief ins Herz der Kontinente.

Die bewegten Wasser von Donau, Amazonas und Nil spülen ihren Klang an die Gestade der Spree, genauer gesagt: in Konzerte auf Berlins einzige konzerttaugliche Dachterrasse. Die Filmreihe nimmt die Atmosphäre der Musik auf und projiziert große (Fluss-) Gefühle auf die Open-Air-Leinwand.

Die Schreibwerkstatt Liquid Writing – Schreiben im Fluss ermöglicht den Sprung ins kalte Wasser: den Wechsel vom Konsumenten zum Produzenten von Literatur. Und wieder dabei: unser Wasserradio. Für Gedanken im Überfluss sorgt bei Sommergesprächen der Philosoph und ehemalige Seemann Michel Serres. ________________________________________________________________
