Ringo Starr was probably the first who felt pretty certain that one day the establishment of the so called “Mokkerscene” will be inevitable. At a press conference (1964), a reporter asks Ringo Starr, “Are you a mod or a rocker?”, to which he replies, “No, I’m a MOKKER.”
Back in these days it was a mystery to us what Ringo wanted to hint at…but here we go ladies and gentleman, just some laughable decades later four girls from Berlin converge to Ringos dream:
Welcome THE MOKKERS! Eine All-Girl-Band aus Berlin Marzahn-Hellersdorf (!!) . Seit ihrer Gründung im Jahre 2007 spielen sie sich beeinflusst vom Sound der 60er Jahre von der Garage hinauf in die Herzen dieser Stadt.
Doch nicht nur Garage, sondern auch andere Genres wie Rockabilly und Postpunk inspirieren die vier Mädchen. Handgemacht, tanzbar, charmant.
