Digital in Berlin’s monthly series at the most exciting new artspace in town, Spektrum, continues with another fabulous evening featuring two diverse and stimulating sound-art performances by Takeshi Nishimoto and Jessica Ekomane.
Takeshi Nishimoto (born in Fukuoka, Japan) is a classically-trained guitarist and composer who is conversant with European, Northern Indian, and American jazz classical traditions. In addition to collaborations with diverse artists late sitar master Rahul Sakyaputra to I’m Not a Gun associate John Tejada, Nishimoto has also performed extensively as a solo artist. Nishimoto’s second solo album, Lavandula was released from Berlin based Record Label, Sonic Pieces in 2013.
Jessica Ekomane was born in France. She now lives and works in Berlin. Her practice unfolds around sound installations, site-specific sound interventions and music. She has been awarded an Honorary Mention at Ars Electronica 2013 in the category “Digital Musics and Sound Art” for Light / Movement, as part of the project Pulse Lab II: Works for Wave Field Synthesis initiated by Robert Henke (DE).
