Director Dylan Goch follows Gruff Rhys on a tour that takes in the theatres, nightclubs and desert teahouses of Wales, Brazil and the Argentine Andes as he discovers what became of his family, the Welsh Diaspora and its musical legacy.

The Delian Mode is a a short experimental documentary revolving around the life and work of electronic music pioneer Delia Derbyshire, best known for her groundbreaking sound treatment of the Doctor Who theme music.

A collage of sound and image created in the spirit of Derbyshire’s unique approach to audio creation and manipulation, this film illuminates such soundscapes onscreen while paying tribute to a woman whose work has influenced electronic musicians for decades.

The film features interviews with Brian Hodgson and Dick Mills of the now defunct BBC Radiophonic Workshop, the founder of Electronic Music Studios Peter Zinovieff, musicians Peter Kember (Sonic Boom), Adrian Utley (Portishead) and Ann Shenton (Add N to X) as well as other friends and colleagues of Delia.

For us one of the best films in 2008. Let the Right One In (Swedish: Låt den rätte komma in) is a 2004 vampire fiction novel by Swedish writer John Ajvide Lindqvist. The movie was directed by Tomas Alfredson.

We don’t know why, two years after here the american version directed by Cloverfield director Matt Reeves.

This English language film adaptation is scheduled to be released on October 1, 2010.

Claudia Rorarius was born in Berlin. After her photography-studies at the Lette-Verein Berlin, she has been working successfully as a freelance photographer.

Chi L’ha Visto is her first feature-length film, her completely successful feature film debut she also supervised as a producer. The movie was supported by the FFA German Federal Film Board as well as the Filmstiftung NRW.

The film was shot on location in 2009 and deals with the business model of Dubai. It includes footage of the online platform second life as well as DVD material gathered at the 2008 citiscape real estate fair in Dubai.

It shows similarities of those rendered realities with the real world in Dubai. It has a special focus on “the world” island developement, and it was partially shot there.

On the other hand, it’s searching for a description of the real work conditions in Dubai.

The film is including quotes by the french philosopher Jaques Rancière, reflecting on how to make a documentary film. The film ends with an epilogue, shot in the greenhouses of Almeria and near the six meter high fence of Melilla/Spain, showing similarities of a global business modell found in Europe as well. In this sense, “the Dubai is in all of us”.

A mesmerizingly beautiful documentary about the British artist Andy Goldsworthy. This film by Thomas Riedelsheimer details Goldsworthy’s unique working methods and gives a profound insight into the man’s motivations. With a soundtrack provided by Fred Frith, Rivers & Tides is nothing short of a perfect cinematographic experience.

Goldsworthy creates intricate and ephemeral sculptures from natural materials such as rocks, leaves, flowers, and icicles. He has been quoted as saying, “I think it’s incredibly brave to be working with flowers and leaves and petals. But I have to: I can’t edit the materials I work with. My remit is to work with nature as a whole.”[7]  Goldsworthy is generally considered the founder of modern rock balancing. For his work, Goldsworthy often uses only his bare hands, teeth, and found tools to prepare the materials.

A picture tells a thousand words as they say, and this stunningly shot film speaks volumes about the fragility of life and mankinds destructive influence on nature as well as revealing deep truths regarding all that which language cannot come close to describing.

Photography plays a crucial role in his art due to its often ephemeral and transient state. According to Goldsworthy, “Each work grows, stays, decays – integral parts of a cycle which the photograph shows at its heights, marking the moment when the work is most alive. There is an intensity about a work at its peak that I hope is expressed in the image. Process and decay are implicit.”
