The concept behind YOUNG SOUL: sharing with an open-minded crowd the full spectrum of music, rhythms & sounds influencing Ron Trent in his musical path. A music, in part, rarely played on a dance-club sound system.
Is it the first gems of Soul, Funk and Disco brought by his father who was responsible for a record pool in the late 70’s and early 80’s in Chicago? Is it his love for Jazz in all it’s variation, would it be classic Cool Jazz, Avant-Garde, Fusion to Jazz-Dance records or even modern electronic beats which inspired him for his Giant Step period in New York?

Is it his recent digging addiction for Krautrock and advanced European pop music? Or his dance orientated years growing up surrounded by masterminds like Frankie Knuckles, Ron Hardy or peers like François K, Joe Claussell, Chez Damier or Larry Heard, with echoes from Paradise Garage and Warehouse influencing and responding to one another…
To sum it up, Ron won’t retreat in any boundaries to make you feel the music he deeply loves, and he’ll play those kinds of music rarely played in dance-clubs and that he hardly had the occasion (if not never) to play in front of a large audience.

For this rare occasion he will dig into his record collection back in Chicago and will most specially take time to go through all his gems and carefully select the perfect records to bring the perfect atmosphere. From that he’ll be free to let his creativity flows and tell the story, his story.
He will play an all night long set, playing from the very first record to the very last one… so except a high level of intensity for this night in one of Berlin most soulful clubs, Prince Charles.
