Orange ‘Ear presents another of their cosy video-shoot sessions with special live guests Päfgens playing this June live in Berlin.
Päfgens is duo, a couple in music and in life. Coming from Slovakia, living in Warsaw. Jana and Filip enjoy playing and recording their songs, getting inspired by field recordings and lo-fi approach. Dreamy shoegaze meets subtile, almost whisperish vocals and post rock bass lines, relics from Filip´s previous postrock music project The Ills. Quite productive in their naive folk simplicity, since 2013 they self-released one album What Happened to Erich Zederkoff? and two EPs Golo and Der verpasste Zug nach Berlin. Supporting artists in Warsaw they shared stage with various projects from Zero Absolu to Moriah Woods.
For several years, they have been active on the Bratislava´s scene and after moving to another country, they fully launched their own band. Päfgens is a couple, who organized concerts under the title After Hours Shows for several and now they issued debut album What Happened To Erich Zederkoff ? on their own. Päfgens are composing simple songs, that are being recorded by themselves at home in Warsaw. It meets their love for shoegaze with lo-fi approach and the simplicity of folk. Field recordings are underlining the dreamy atmosphere built on fading delicate vocals with guitar and bass. They are following on their first EP Golo with first real album, which has been formed into the final sound by Dublin resident Tom Karasek alias Gaex.
Orange ‘Ear is a concert series that takes place in our shop/living space in Berlin-Friedrichshain. Musicians who have made a particular impression on us are invited to play for free in our living room before an attentive audience in an intimate atmosphere. We record the live performances with our video-studio-like set-up from multiple cameras and the utmost of care. We therefore remain extremely close to the musicians and are able to capture the live nature of the performances in a unique way.
