Two cultural melting pots so often interwoven with each other: Istanbul and Berlin are among the most exciting cities in Europe and have long become a magnet for creative people around the world.
“New Sounds of Istanbul and Berlin” is going into its third round after the successful opening in October and an event in the Borusan Music House: trends in the Turkish cultural scene will be presented in concerts and performances.
The spectrum is broad and reaches from improvised music to folk, indie-pop and club music, all the way to dance and video. The main focus will examine how the young, experimental generation of artists deals with its cultural roots: folkloric singing and traditional instruments encounter electro-acoustic experiments and club sounds.
March 13 from 3 to 7 pm: “Derwish in Process”: Impulse dance workshop with Ziya Azazi
March 14 from 7pm – end: Concert and party with Brenna MacCrimmon & Alcalica, Seni Görmem Imkansız, Ziya Azazi, Sa.Ne.Na & Korhan Erel, Islak Köpek feat. Nora Krahl, DJ Ipek and VJ Karajan.
