Krake Festival is a festival for challenging electronic music organized by the Berlin based Killekill crew. Krake means octopus: Over the course of one week the festival spreads across various locations, tipping its tentacles into all kinds of musical styles and activities. Krake is not about genres or hype, it’s about music, that dares to step off the beaten track, about surprising performances and a down-to-earth attitude, far off the mainstream. A festival for music lovers.
The Krake weekend begins on Friday daytime at Urban Spree with the legendary Krake Label Boutique – a record fair bringing together Berlin’s underground music labels with almost 100 imprints displaying and offering their work in the beautiful garden area of Urban Spree. Alongside to DJ sets and surprise performances rounding off the day, the raffle offers a chance to win music production equipment and other cool stuff.
Friday night sets the stage for a series of concerts and performances in pure punk attitude with synth-punk PETRA FLURR & 89st opening for Schwefelgelb, Berlin’s most prolific duo in classic body music tradition, and The Horrorist, who is gearing up for one of his raging, devastating live performances.
On top of this we are delving deeper into DIY synth art and Circuit Bending throughout the day and night with Lithuanian Moon Armada being one of the most impressive artists in the field. He builds experimental musical devices using doll heads and other objects to create an unreal and spooky atmosphere.
