D/B’s monthly event series at Spektrum continues with an excellent double bill featuring local Aircoholic Daniel Kuhn and Italian Berlin resident Ennio Mazzon. While Kuhns music drifts through dark ambient soundscape, Mazzon pursues an even harsher experimental sound. So the two together with provide a fine constrast to one another. As ever D/B Sound System will man the decks to bring the saturday night vibe in the intimate Spekrum bar.
Daniel Kuhn or self-proclaimed ›Aircoholic‹ experiments with industrial approaches in sound. He transforms and fuses together recordings of diverse material, from washing machines and car tyres to synthesisers and self-made instruments, climbing into dark holes into pitch black, to reveal multilayered digital sound patterns. With research as the objective, bad habit as a medium is developed and soldered. His most recent release, ›Rise of the Night‹ is a personal, dark ambient construct with a descent into stillness. Daniel Kuhn / Aircoholic is a hunter and gatherer, sleepless in Berlin.
Ennio Mazzon (Montebelluna, 1985) is an Italian engineer and experimental musician. His solo and collaborative works have been released on Entr’acte, Nephogram, Ripples, Triple Bath, ÉTER. Ennio lives and works in Berlin. In January 2016 Ennio released his brand new album Pavement Narrows on Discreet Records. So for his performance at Spektrum in February he will play a special record release concert.
