This time with electronic music maker Chris Jeffs aka. Cylob. Each artist is asked 11 set questions and to contribute 3 “facts” which can be any statement from them on absolutely anything: their own views on politics, religion, the environment, sport…or just something they read in the paper or saw on TV.

FACTS:

1: Creativity can be enhanced through the use of skin creams that increase the absorption of inspirons, airbourne molecules which contain ideas.
2: The clothes I wear are treated with a unique process which renders them self-drying, utilising a newly discovered mechanism known as “evaporation.”
3: There is no such thing as infinity.

1. What is the biggest inspiration for your music?
Sensory input.

2. How and when did you get into making music?
A series of small events that stretch back to the limits of my memory.

Make animations – I do anyway.

7. What was the last record you bought?
The Plant Pot by Jonas Krott.

8. Who would you most like to collaborate with?
John Frum.

9. What was your best gig (as performer or spectator)?
It will be on Thursday night so you ought to come.

10. How important is technology to your creative process?
2GHz Intel Core Duo.

11. Do you have siblings and are they proud or jealous of you?

Cylob is the alias of electronic music maker Chris Jeffs. A trombone player in his youth, he progressed to experimenting with electronic music and recording in his late teens.

At first inspired by early 80′s synth-pop, old-school hip-hop and electro, and dance pioneers Art Of Noise, 808 State and LFO, Chris gave a demo tape to Aphex Twin at a gig in early 1993, subsequently signing to his Rephlex label a short time after.

Since his debut, he has released 13 singles and 5 albums on Rephlex, in addition to the EP “Spider Report” for Breakin’ Records.
